DAY 1/Saturday 25 March 2023 * Journey to cross the Apennines
Tuscan-Emilian to reach ROMAGNA in the late morning and do
short stop (after free breakfast at the grill) in SANTARCANGELO,
pleasant village with old neighborhoods with winding stridette from
eighteenth-century Collegiate Church, the unique Triumphal Arch and the Rocca Malatestiana.
Accommodation in hotel on the Adriatic coast and lunch. In the afternoon
hike inland along the CONCA VALLEY to reach
MONTEFIORE one of the most beautiful villages in Italy perched within its walls in a
landscape of hills with a distant perspective of the sea. The fortress of the XIV
century dominates the village clinging to the Castle with its classic
urban network of steep and silent streets. At the beginning of the town the
Parish church of San Paolo rich in its interiors of some precious works.
Return to the coast, dinner and night at the hotel.
DAY 2/Sunday 26 March 2023 * You leave the Adriatic coast for
the interior that from Pesaro leads towards the Apennines until it reaches URBINO
for the guided tour of the mammoth Palazzo Ducale maximum monument
of Marche art. The Palace, seat of the National Gallery of the Marches
preserves works of great value distributed among the apartments of the Jole and
those of Duke Federico, of Melarancio and of the Guests, among the halls of the
Roveresco and the underground, works by masters such as Della Robbia, Piero della
Francesca, Bramante and especially Raphael native here. Free lunch with
countless opportunities in the pretty historic within and in the afternoon too
also a look at the village with the squares of the Republic and the Renaissance,
the Cathedral, the Town Hall and Via Raffaello. Way back by climbing over
again the Apennines to reach the Val Tiberina with a short
stop in CITTA' di CASTELLO and from here to Arezzo the Autosole towards Florence.
Convenient stop at a motorway grill for a frugal and optional dinner
final arrival in the evening.
